Seeking Students with Disabilities in Science Fields for AccessSTEM
Do-it's project, the Northwest Alliance for Access to Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (accessSTEM) provides opportunities for students with disabilities to locate
work experiences and paid internships, participate in career preparation events, conduct
labor market research, develop disability disclosure and accommodation strategies, and

AAPD Summer Congressional Internship Program For College Students With Disabilities
Second semester sophomores through first semester seniors interested in working on capitol hill are encouraged to
apply for summer internships working in congressional offices in washington, dc. Roundtrip air travel and housing
will be provided to interns, along with a stipend of $1,500. For more

2004 AAPD/Microsoft Summer Information Technology Internship For College Students With Disabilities
Undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in information technology are encouraged to apply for summer
internships working in various agencies in the executive branch of the federal government. Roundtrip air travel and
housing will be provided to interns, along with a stipend of $4,500. Applications are due december 15, 2003.

Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities
The Workforce Recruitment Program (wrp) for college students with disabilities connects public and private
sector employers nationwide with postsecondary students. Employers seek to fill both temporary and permanent
positions in a variety of fields. During winter quarter, personal interviews are conducted.
By late march, a database of student information is made available to employers. Recent graduates may also be eligible.

National Science Foundation Funds Research Experiences for Undergraduates
The national science foundation funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU
(research experiences for undergraduates) sites program. An REU site consists of a group of about ten undergraduates who
work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project,
where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases,
assistance with housing and travel. Research opportunities are available in washington in physics, ocean sciences,

NBDC National Resume Database
The National Business and Disability Council (NBDC) will enter your resume
into their national resume database! This free service is for college students
with disabilities who are approaching graduation.
It will be made available to companies that have demonstrated a commitment to hiring people with disabilities,
however no one will ask you to disclose your disability.
Employers will contact you directly. You only submit one resume to be considered by top
companies located in cities throughout the country.

NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program
NASA-USRP offers undergraduates across the united states research experiences at nasa centers
during two sessions scheduled for summer 2004 and fall 2004. Applicants must be juniors or
seniors. Eligible students must have an academic major
or demonstrated coursework concentration in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars Scholarship Program for College Students with Disabilities
The washington center offers 50 scholarships to college students with disabilities interested in
working in the executive, judicial, or legislative branches of the federal government.
